Additional Dark Needs at Night's Edge (The Immortals After Dark, Book 4) Information

Bestselling author Kresley Cole continues her seductive Immortals After Dark series with this tale of a vampire shunned even by his own kind and a beautiful phantom, bound together by a passion they cannot resist.

A RAVEN-HAIRED TEMPTRESS OF THE DARK...

Néomi Laress, a famous ballerina from a past century, became a phantom the night she was murdered. Imbued with otherworldly powers but invisible to the living, she haunts her beloved home, scaring away trespassers -- until she encounters a ruthless immortal even more terrifying than Néomi herself.

A VAMPIRE WARRIOR CONSUMED BY MADNESS...

To prevent him from harming others, Conrad Wroth's brothers imprison him in an abandoned manor. But there, a female only he can see seems determined to drive him further into madness. The exquisite creature torments him with desire, leaving his body racked with lust and his soul torn as he finds himself coveting her for his own.

HOW FAR WILL HE GO TO CLAIM HER?

Yet even if Conrad can win Néomi, evil still surrounds her. Once he returns to the brutality of his past to protect her, will he succumb to the dark needs seething inside him?

What Customers Say About Dark Needs at Night's Edge (The Immortals After Dark, Book 4):

And that little doubt that he had about her not being his bride vanishes with a hard on. Conrad is the epitome of sexy for me. Conrad falls deeply in love with his not all there either ballerina, and while they yearn to touch each other, they are content with being intimate in other ways. Anyway he sees something that he shouldn't. ALIVE. Conrad is a out of his mind vampire assassin who will do anything to kill his three brothers for what they did to him hundreds of years before. The story starts out explaining how Neomi, a 1900s ballerina was murdered and then turned into a ghost, destined to haunt her home for all eternity.

They turned him against his will, violating his entire beliefs. Things don't go his way (and with the help of a certain yummy wolf) they imprison him in a certain haunted house. If I could climb into this book and then into Conrad's bed.well, I wouldn't be writing this review. Conrad yells at Neomi, calling her pathetic and all kinds of names, things Neomi says he cant take back. He leaves Neomi alone, trapped in a rundown mansion, and that night, while out haunting at a Lore party or was that a Lore orgy. Neomi. I don't like paranormals, but Cole goes above and beyond genres with her stories. I l-o-v-e Kresley Cole and my only suggestion to her would be to make a heroine named Ashley, of medium height and weight, dark brown hair and green eyes in her next novel so that I wouldn't have to pretend so much while I'm reading.

Possessive, not all there (means he's crazzzyyy), SEXY, rewarding in bed, and a little bit of a bad @ss. Big surprise. That all changes when Conrad is determined to escape, kill his brothers, and reanimate his bride- their really not married in that sense-. This all goes wrong with a little white lie and one person's hand. The ensuing love scene is hot, very, very hung- I mean heavy and I feel a little like slapping Neomi's wonderful self for putting her hands on my man.anyway I gave enough of the story away, but lets just say that Neomi's new body comes with a HEAVY price. Recommend it with all im worth.

Neomi having the challenge of being a ghost made up for it with a strong and emotional personality. Among KC's heroines Neomi is probably my favorite. The premise is a little difficult to wrap your mind around but as a whole the writer was able to bring the excitement level to a very nice level. This makes her apart from the rest of your run-of-the-mill females who are shy about expressing their feelings and always holding back. I definitely recommend this if not for Neomi but just to sate you curiosity about Conrad's plight.

I am loving yet another of Cole's hot, sexy vampires. This book has a great story to go along with the hot romance.

The first hundred pages were truly a bore, I contiued because I was stuck at the hospital with nothing else to do. I read the first book in this series and was hooked. I was so dissappointed through out this read. The romance is a very slow start with two challenging characters. Not as hot an steamy as her first book.

It's true there isn't a huge amount of action in this novel, but there is a LOT of romance. I've been working through the Immortals After Dark series in order, so I wasn't going to skip it, but I was prepared for a weak link. I wasn't really thrilled about the idea of a romance where the heroine is a ghost, and a lot of reviews complained that this book was slow, or just not quite up to par with the others. So when he tries, there's a really adorable vulnerability about him that just tugs on your heartstrings. While Conrad is in the depths of his madness, it gives him great comfort that Neomi is a ghost - because he can't hurt her. Conrad is definitely rough around the edges, and he has no idea how to court a woman.

On the one hand, it's about curing Conrad Wroth of madness brought on by bloodlust. So there are a few things going on in this novel. When vampires drink blood straight from the vein, they gain access to the memories of their victims. Eventually, all the memories - experienced in the first person - make the vampires lose all sense of self, bringing on madness. I admit that I was a little worried when I started Dark Needs at Night's Edge. And at the same time, it's about Neomi deciding that being a ghost is no excuse for being passive. She's trapped in a painful unlife, but she can still make choices - and it's Conrad, with his attempts to control and dominate her, that reminds Neomi who's in charge (Hint: not Conrad). So the hero and the heroine are each on their own, individual journey - but romance is the catalyst for their progress, their ultimate test, and also their greatest reward.

He has hardly any self-control, and an incorporeal bride gives him the chance to work through the early stages of trust and attraction without the risk of killing her in a fit of rage. And when they've made as much progress as a couple can without actually touching, it's Neomi who takes charge and figures out how to remedy the situation. His brothers are trying to wean him off drinking from the vein, hoping that will help him control the cacophany of memories, but what really helps him turn the corner is his Bride - the ghost Neomi. I was pleasantly surprised - I thoroughly enjoyed Dark Needs at Night's Edge, loved the pacing and character development, and the author managed to make Neomi's ghostly nature work for, rather than against, the plot. Conrad and Neomi spend a lot of time together, since they are both stuck in the crumbling New Orleans mansion where Neomi was killed and Conrad was chained.

Conrad is 300 years old and completely bonkers. She's so important to him that she crowds out the other thoughts, allows him to focus, gives him a goal. Their relationship goes through many different stages - it starts off very tentative - and it was a nice change of pace to have a sexually experienced and enthusiastic heroine and an innocent hero. Anyhow, for any other Immortals After Dark readers who are wondering if Dark Needs at Night's Edge is going to be a weak link - you can add one more reader to your tally on the side of "totally satisfied." I thought it fit into the series perfectly and made me look forward all the more to starting book 5.
